Have you heard the news? The annual Los Angeles Auto Show is getting underway on the west coast, and our favorite carmaker is kicking things off with a big announcement. At Don Miller Mazda, we're excited to introduce our customers to the upcoming, 2019 Mazda3.

The beloved, compact Mazda3 has always given Madison drivers a choice between a versatile hatchback or a chic sedan. Now, with a new generation on the way for early 2019, it's also offering new safety features and a new engine that's sure to make a big impression.

From the outside, the new Mazda3 appears to have much in common with the previous generation. Overall dimensions are the nearly identical, with only the wheelbase growing by a little bit. But, the changes for this car go deep once you delve a little further.

A Sneak Peek at the Exciting Mazda3 Updates for 2019

While we're still waiting for the exact details on how these changes will affect the version of the Mazda3 that will be available here in the U.S., we can tell you that the carmaker is adding a new, fifth engine option to the fray. A powerful, efficient, four-cylinder called the "Skyactiv-X," this new engine is being called a "high-compression engine," and it promises to deliver more of everything Mazda fans love about driving these cars. Horsepower and torque ratings are still out for this thrilling powertrain addition.

Still want more? How about all-wheel drive, to make winter road trips in Wisconsin easier? We have good news for you then, because, for the first time, this popular model will have an all-wheel drive system available as an option. You asked for it, and Mazda has listened.
