On Display at the 2018 New York International Auto Show

On March 28, 2018, at the 2018 New York International Auto Show, Mazda revealed the newly refined Mazda CX-3. The updated subcompact crossover SUV from Mazda introduces us to the new level of expectation in the Mazda lineup with significant interior improvements. Beyond the Mazda CX-3, Mazda also displayed the Mazda KAI concept and SKYACTIV-X engine that proudly highlight the Mazda commitment to distinctive design and engineering exceptionalism.

Mazda is excited about the new SKYACTIV-X engine and what it represents for the brand. This gasoline engine utilizes compression-ignition, which is the same process by which a diesel engine ignites the fuel. This new engine design is expected to be 20- to 30-percent more efficient than today's engines. Also, the SKYACTIV-X engine will be the world's first commercially available gasoline compression-ignition engine. It will also be the building block toward Mazda's long-term vision of technology development that will end with reducing CO2 emissions by 50-percent from 2010 levels by 2030.
